Mental Health: Let’s Talk offers members and non-members access to established Health & Wellness practitioners Dr. Shari Smith of Life Options, Sarah Pierson of the Alex Panton Foundation and Chef Maureen “Mo” Cubbon of Zest.

Dr. Shari Smith, Owner/Clinical Psychologist at Life Options joins us to speak on the mind-body connection and how to find motivation through mindfulness. She will also take members through a simple mindfulness exercise that can be done from anywhere.

Sarah Pierson, Administrative Coordinator for the Alex Panton Foundation, provides resources for anyone struggling with mental illness, including details on how to access assistance in Cayman, even while living overseas.

Chef Maureen Cubbon, Owner, Zest & Volunteer Ambassador for Jamie Oliver Food Revolution brings her experience in the kitchen to the Yard to help us understand how nutrition and mental health are inextricably linked, and how what we eat today impacts our mood, and our long-term health.

This Virtual Yard Meeting is hosted by Cayman Connection’s Kate Kandiah, a qualified Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Practitioner (Equine Specialist).

Kate Kandiah is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Organisational Psychology, and is also a qualified Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Practitioner (Equine Specialist) focusing on organisational development and corporate team building, family therapy, and growth and learning for young vulnerable people in London.

All Virtual Yard Meetings encourage members a chance to ask questions before and during the session. Email questions in advance to hello@caymanconnection.org.

Calling the Cayman Islands home for over 20 years, Chef Mo is deeply ingrained in the Cayman food culture & has been a part of the international culinary scene for most of her life. A passionate food advocate & culinary entrepreneur, things started to heat up in the kitchen for Chef Mo when she earned first place at Food & Wine Magazine’s 2013 Cayman Cookout Cook-Off competition cooking for judges Eric Ripert, Anthony Bourdain, & José Andrés. Later that year she was a speaker at TEDx Seven Mile Beach where she introduced her concept of sparking a “Cayman Style Food Revolution”.
