Jared McGill currently lives in Canada. He migrated to Canada in Fall 2017 to complete his undergraduate degree in Business from Trinity Western University. While Jared holds an Associate of Arts degree from the University College of the Cayman Islands, and a Bachelor of Business degree from Trinity Western University, in the near future, he aspires to one day become lawyer.

We talk about his time in Canada, the story behind his KY345Merch brand, and he shares some positive thoughts to live by. Jared also volunteers as one of Cayman Connection’s regional managers (Canada).

Banking Analyst for the Financial Services Supervision Department (now the CIMA) and as a Mutual Fund Administrator with Citco Fund Services (Cayman) Ltd.

With community service as his passion, he has also served in various roles in Cayman Islands philanthropic and service associations including the Cayman Islands Angel Investors Network, the Cayman Islands
Amateur Swimming association and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

Episode 2: Antonio Arch

Antonio Arch is a Public Relations professional based in Manchester.

Over a two-decade career, he has built a reputation for dependable content strategy, timely and efficient editing, persuasive copywriting, and methodical research.

He is a graduate of Bishop’s and McGill Universities and completed his MFA (distinction) at the Manchester Writing School in 2019. Content workshopped during his MFA were published by the University of the Virgin Islands in ‘The Caribbean Writer’ volume 34. He is currently pursuing a PhD. at the University of Huddersfield.

Episode 3: Jevaughnie Ebanks

Jevaughnie Ebanks, known as Jevy, is a young Caymanian film Student studying for his Masters at the University of Bradford in the UK.

Jevy has been a part of the annual satire “Rundown”, and has also worked as a news reporter, journalist, and videographer in the media sector in the Cayman Islands. He now shares how he is adjusting to life in the UK after being so content with his island living and taking a step back from the stage to pursue further prospects.

Episode 4: Ashlea Jade Smith

Ashlea Jade Smith is a Caymanian-born Sports Development Professional & Fitness Specialist living and working in the UK.

Aside from work, Ashlea hosts her own podcast ‘Melanin & Me’ supporting and uplifting Black Women & WOC on health, wellness, and self-improvement topics.

In 2020 Ashlea came away with 3 titles from the Miss Caribbean UK pageant; 1st Princess, Miss Personality, and Best Charity Fundraiser as she proudly represented the Cayman Islands.

Episode 5: Jawara Alleyne

Award-winning Fashion Designer and artist from Jamaica and the Cayman Islands Jawara Alleyne has developed his handwriting through examining topics of cultural relevance while pushing these topics through a tunnel of contextual and abstract but relevant references.

The delicate balancing of ideas thought of as unrelated and the creation of narratives through the significance and importance of differences is the key element behind Jawara’s ethos.

Having graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2016, Jawara has since co-founded Nii Agency (a model agency in London dedicated to diversity) with photographer and collaborator, Campbell Addy. Jawara graduated from a Masters in Fashion from Central Saint Martins in 2020.

Episode 6: Precious Shordee

Precious Shordee was born and raised in the Cayman Islands and is known for her participation in beauty pageants. She has now turned to express herself through music as an up-and-coming hip-hop artiste.

DJ Khaled describes her music sound as “Super Dope” and she’s worked with Wiley’s producer Morfius & producer Slym Black Ops Music/Shatty Shane Productions. Precious Shordee’s dream is to be an international artist, carrying her Cayman people with her and putting the Cayman Islands on the map musically.

Episode 7: Kate Kandiah
Release Date: 1 February 2022

Cayman born Kate now lives in the UK. Kate has worked for both the Cayman Islands Government Office UK (CIGO-UK) and Department of Tourism (DOT) in the UK.  Kate founded the Cayman Connection network in 2012 in conjunction with CIGO-UK and DOT, established the UK social enterprise not-for-profit CIC in 2018 and the Cayman Islands Non-Profit-Organisation for Cayman Connection in 2021.

Cayman born and former Miss Teen Cayman Islands, Suahil now resides in Anderson, Indiana with her family. Suahil currently serves as the Financial Controller for Anderson University and is a doctoral student in Higher Education at Ball State University. As Regional Manager for the US (Higher education focused), she is growing the Cayman Connection (US) group.

Episode 11: Ayanda Jones

Ayanda Jones is a current third year undergraduate at the university of Edinburgh, studying International Relations and International Law. As she enters into the final year of her degree she enjoys running the Edinburgh Law Society for non-LLB students and volunteering for the British United World College national committee alongside her studies. As Lead Student Ambassador and Regional Ambassador for Scotland Ayanda is a point of contact for all Regional Student Ambassadors and Caymanian students in her region.

Whilst living in Cayman, Kamala was an active member of the community having been a regular volunteer with the National Drug Council, Lead Advisor for a Junior Achievement company, and a member of the National Orchestra. She was also a host for Gallivantin’ in the Cayman Islands, the official YouTube series of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism where she took viewers on the road exploring all that is Cayman.
