Guest Randy Chollette
As a child, Randy always saw the world a little differently than most people. He was an absolute child, no grey area, black or white, right or wrong. Today, as one of Cayman’s leading Fine Artists, he approaches life in much the same way; truth is truth. Living by that mantra has brought him a freedom of spirit that spills over into his art and touches each and every one who comes in contact with his works. He honours the Almighty Creator from whom his talents have been bestowed as gifts for this life journey.
This consummate artist does not allow himself to be pegged into any one hole, so he has many styles of expression. From Art to Music he seeks innovation and unique self expression; abstract, realism, expressionism… His themes are just as all encompassing; the world around him, cultural identity, social commentary, but the one common element is the spiritual nature of the works. Simply put, they touch you. They connect his existence to that of every other part of creation; a universal kind of brotherhood and humanity.
“I want to live this life as near to perfection as I can, I don’t want to make this journey again, to have to work out karma again. That is why all that I think, say, do must be absolute truth. And truth is LOVE.
Guest Nasaria Suckoo Chollette
Storyteller, Poet, Artist, and Cultural Activist, Nasaria Suckoo Chollette, has always sought to understand her life journey through artistic expression. Nasaria’s work is intuitive, passionate and bold. A teller of stories at the annual Gimistory International Storytelling Festival, Nasaria has published two books, Storytelling Rundown and All the Joy in the World, and has had her poetry published locally and internationally.
Beyond the vivid colours and texture, past the imaginative, cultural themes, we find the core of Nasaria’s art practice; the intuitive expressions of an artist whose juxtaposition of woman-centred themes and social commentary, allows her work to be accessible to all sectors of her community.
Her determination to deepen her practice stems from the desire to incite dialogue around social issues affecting women of colour in Cayman and throughout the Diaspora.
Nasaria’s work focuses on “women’s work”, and elevates the mundane to the realm of the sacred.
A founding member of the Caymanian Artists collective, Native Sons, since 1996, Nasaria has exhibited her works at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, the National Museum, the Morgan’s Gallery and numerous private exhibition spaces. Several pieces of her works are part of the National Collection, including her Whomper installation, “2000 Years in These Shoes”, “Maiden Plumb” (McCoy prize winner 2006), and acclaimed work, “The Women Have become the Truth; for Madiba”.
In June 2019, Nasaria won the Bendal Hydes Award in the 1st Cayman Islands Biennial, Cross Currents, with an art installation entitled, “Becoming Again”. She is the first Caymanian woman of African descent to have won this award.

King Navassa is a Caymanian recording artist (having released ‘his first solo album, The Ride in 2023), storyteller and performer who currently resides in Manchester.
