As the CIGO-UK and Cayman Connection prepare for the second instalment of ‘Cayman Day‘ in the UK, spirits are high and the excitement is building with each week that passes.
At the Virtual Yard Meeting ‘Get Ready for Cayman Day 2022’, held Wednesday 29 June, Executive Director Kate Kandiah acknowledged the generous support of the Cayman Islands Government Office in the UK which sponsors one monthly Virtual Yard Meeting, including this particular meeting.
From memories of 2021’s noteworthy event and a chat about this year’s ticket process (including more tickets to grow the event), as well as plans for enhancing the youth experience and developing the games offerings for all, the event opened with lively dialogue filled with pertinent information for those planning to attend the 17 September event at Snoozebox in London.
Attendees were reminded that those who registered following last year’s event are already on the list for 2022; reconfirmation emails have been sent out and anyone who has not yet received one should get in touch with Cayman Connection.
Other topics on the list included enhancing the guest experience with even more exciting giveaways, fantastic ‘Cayman Day’ sponsorship opportunities, volunteer benefits, the range of performances being planned, culinary elements including a buffet-style spread of Caribbean favourites and an extended dominoes session. Much of what made 2021 Cayman Day special will be included where possible, with an injection of fresh, new (and in some cases, by audience request) elements to develop the unique event which pays homage to homeland Cayman Islands.
