EVENT DETAILS

START TIME – 3pm: Please plan to arrive by 3pm for the Prosecco & Rum Punch reception and lots of fun! And plan to stay for a host of activities and performances throughout the day!

WIN: All guests who arrive between 3pm – 4pm will be entered into a prize draw to WIN a special Cayman Islands hamper with gifts and vouchers worth over £200.  

ACTIVITIES: Caribbean food and drinks will be served, and performances will happen every hour throughout the day, with games, prizes and entertainment,  for the whole family!

CULTURE CORNER: We have spaces for all ages and interests, so please explore, learn and enjoy!  

COMMENT BOX & PRIZE DRAWS: Enter your comments and ideas throughout the day to be entered into a prize draw for prizes worth £30-£300!

END TIME – 9pm: Live entertainment will finish by 7pm, followed by DJ Just Vibez for Caribbean tunes and dancing, and the dominoes competition by 9pm.

Jevy Ebanks - Show host & dominoes competitor!

Jevy Ebanks is a Caymanian media personality and performer. He began performing at the tender age of 11 at the National Children’s Festival of the Arts and was soon invited to take part in the Cayman National Cultural Foundation’s Young At Arts youth theatre company.

Jevy recently graduated with first class honours in Film and Television Production at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom, and is now pursuing a Master’s in Filmmaking. Jevy owns and operates local video and audio production company, Jevy Ebanks Productions.

Precious Shordee - Singer

Precious Shordee is a Hip-Hop solo artiste. Born and raised in the Cayman Islands. DJ Khaled describes her music sound as Super Dope. She has been an official music artist for 6 months and she’s worked with Wiley’s Producer Morfius & producer Slym Black Ops Music/Shatty Shane Productions. Precious Shordee’s dream is to be an International artist, carrying her Cayman People with her and to put the Cayman Islands on the map musically.

What makes the Cayman Islands special to me?

I am beyond honoured to be born and raised in paradise. There are so many things that makes the Cayman Islands special. The admiration of such small islands that has intrigued the world with our culture, our lifestyle, our morals of respect we carry along with our hospitality and how kind hearted our people are is just one of a kind, to be honest….Cayman Kind! Our accent stands out with such unique beauty. There will never be another beloved isle that embarks in this world like Cayman. But nothing marks the culture of the Cayman Islands which makes the Country who we are more than “THE PEOPLE” and that’s what makes Cayman so special to me.

Mr Notch - Singer

Recently having toured the UK with Maxi Priest and Big Mountain, we are thrilled that international reggae artist Jean Eric Smith aka Mr. Notch can join us in London to sing at Cayman Day!  Mr. Notch is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer who has been working professionally since the age of 10, as the lead vocalist and front man for The Juveniles Band.

With a powerful voice and big aspirations for future events and festivals around the world, we are proud to have Mr. Notch in our lineup! 

King Navassa - Singer

Experienced production assistant, strong arts professional and multi-talented performer King joins us from Manchester to sing some classics and entertain us throughout the day. Keen podcaster, King’s podcasts include “The King and I” and “Celebrating Caymanians Overseas, out of sight…not out of mind..”

Outgoing and passionate, and he always endeavors to bring out the best in his comrades and within his community. His laughter is infectious and we are so blessed to have him on the CayConnect team.

Nicole Wood - Singer

Nicole Wood is a Caymanian Singer-Actor Musician based in London in London for has been performing professionally for 8 years.  She completed her BA Hons Music degree at Bath Spa University before going on to train at Rose Bruford College’s Acting Part-Time course. Nicole specialises in Classical repertoire on flute and has a wide singing repertoire but specialises in mainly Jazz and Musical Theatre…

Nicole made her London Fringe theatre debut in 2018 playing Inez Serrano in Jean-Paul Sartre’s play ‘No Exit’ with The Roses Theatre Company. She was also their Assistant Director the following year for the play ‘Sex Cells’ by Anna Longaretti. Her other recent theatrical accomplishments include the narration of audiobook Soft Lips Volume 1 by Scarlet Fox March 2021, and a supporting role in the feature film A Matter of Causality as Lucy Hale, a movie which won Best Ensemble Cast and was a Selected Finalist for the Best Feature Film at the Oniros Film Awards, March 2020; and winning Best Indie Feature at Global Film Festival Awards, Los Angeles.

Nayil Arana - Violinist

Traditional Caymanian & Caribbean music – flying from Luxembourg!

Nayil Arana is a prolific Caymanian violinist, having served as a fiddler for several groups including the Cayman Islands Folk Singers and the Bona Fide Band. He also produces electronic music on YouTube, where his content has received millions of views. Aside from his artistic career, he is also one of the few Caymanians in Big Tech; he is currently working for Amazon in Luxembourg as a Software Engineer Intern.

Antonio Arch - Author

Reading his original work Antonio Arch is a Public Relations professional based in Manchester. Over a two-decade career, he has built a reputation for dependable content strategy, timely and efficient editing, persuasive copywriting, and methodical research. He is a graduate of Bishop’s and McGill Universities and completed his MFA (distinction) at the Manchester Writing School in 2019. Content workshopped during his MFA were published by the University of the Virgin Islands in ‘The Caribbean Writer’ volume 34. He is currently pursuing a PhD. at the University of Huddersfield.

Cayman Day - Singers

Inspired to share traditional Caymanian folk music at Cayman Day, our Regional Manager, Rita called on talent once part of the Cayman Islands Folk Singers, and voila! The Cayman Day Singers was formed.  The Cayman Day Singers are: Rita Estevanovich, King Navassa, Juliet Garricks, Jevy Ebanks, Nayil Arana on fiddle, and our newest addition is Nicole Wood!  We hope more of our Cayman talent living overseas will join the group for Cayman Day 2022!
