“If in the UK, I recommend this app www.pawprint.eco – a wonderful way to measure our carbon footprint and see ways we can reduce it. It is free and so cool. What really struck me is how little difference so many of the small things we do make. The big issues are transport and heating/cooling houses.”

“Recycling bins are a start. My council has five (general waste, garden waste, paper and card, glass/metal/plastic containers, food waste). Food waste collected weekly, the others every other week.
I avoid driving my car in favour of public transport as much as I can, even if it costs me more money / time.
Don’t use a clothes dryer, hang it to dry instead.
Moved to a smaller house that costs less to heat, have a smaller and economical car.”

“I live in a flat and I compost and separate my recycling. I try to purchase more sustainable products, like compostable dish sponges…theseepcompany.com”

“We got a dish washer sponge that you can clean and reuse weekly.”
“We started composting. It was an eye opener to see how much garbage we produce. It was spurred by watching the Netflix doc Kiss the Ground which discusses carbon pull down and how important plants and ground microbes are to our future. And we won’t buy veg or fruit wrapped in plastic anymore, we look for it loose.”
