Cayman Thanksgiving is a weekend-long celebration of Cayman’s culture, food and togetherness. This year Cayman Connection UK members are getting involved by hosting some of their own traditional Cayman meals for friends and family in Europe.

Not to be mistaken for American or Canadian Thanksgiving, Cayman Thanksgiving is the first weekend of December which marks the end of Hurricane Season – so there is a lot to be thankful for.

GET INVOLVED and host your own Cayman dinner or lunch on Friday 4 December, Saturday 5 December or Sunday 6 December. Invite your friends and share your experiences through comments, pictures and videos on social media!

The first six people to sign up to host a traditional dinner by joining and posting on the Cayman Thanksgiving Event Page, will receive a FREE medium sized rum cake to serve for desert!

The deadline to enter to receive a rum cake is FRIDAY 27 NOVEMBER.

Dinner guests can be friends, family, flatmates, work makes, anyone! Dinners can be from 2 to 200 people up to you!

You don’t have to be a master chef to get involved. If interested keep an eye out on our EVENT PAGE on the CCUK Facebook page for recipe inspiration, tips and further updates!

Hosts will be announced at the Cayman student Reception on Saturday 28th but you’ll still have time to get involved after that.

PRIZES FOR THE BEST HOSTS!

We love to share the Cayman spirit! You can win prizes by sharing the experiences of you and your guests at dinner on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #CaymanThanksgivingUK.

The four hosts who best use social media to share their traditional Cayman thanksgiving dinner experience will receive a voucher for £25! Be sure to post a range of comments, images and videos of your event, don’t forget to have your guests post too, and tag you in their comments!

The grand prize of a bottle of Seven Fathams Rum will be presented to the Best CCUK Cayman Thanksgiving Host 2015. To be in with a chance to gain this prize and accolade be sure that one of your guests has posted something about the Cayman experience you have given them at your event, which is what you will be judged on for this prize!

Deadline for social media posts about your event is midday Tuesday 8 December.

Winners will be announced by Friday 11 December.

Independent judges are: Department of Tourism (UK), Cayman Islands Government Office and The Friends of Cayman!
