Looking forward to this Fit4Feb prove you moved 2 challenge! 💪🏼
I’m signing up to get back into fitness after six months of enduring my heel injuries. I am hoping to gain the motivation to move again and find different modes of exercise. I am unable to do my usual running as much as I’d like due to the hard impact on my heels. I’d like to create a habit of exercising again. The group can help me keep moving as I love competition and wanna win.
Hello! I’m signing up to get more into exercise to help my mental health more than anything. Making movement a daily habit should hopefully help my anxiety and depression, since I’ve heard it’s been proven by science! I think the achievement of it at the end will also give me a taster of the massive achievement I’ll have when I complete my degree, and I can prove to myself that I can achieve the things I put my mind to ❤️ I think I will be either going on walks or doing some yoga each day; I haven’t done yoga in months, and I’d love to pick it back up again with my YouTube fave YogaWithAdriene. Best of luck to everyone taking part!!
Am desperately trying to get an income as I’ve moved to London so, looking for a job as well as planning to start a business, go to workshops to improve my chances of being cast (recently graduated as an actor) as well as decorating/making a home. I wake up, start work, forgetting that my body is my business. This Fit4Feb hopefully will help me put the fitness first so I have the capability to do everything else! I need all the help and support as it’s been a while…😊
I’m so excited that you’re joining the dance class with me this week! Wooo!
I am starting Fit4Feb after 10 days in bed from COVID and prior to that 9 weeks off exercise after surgery! So I have a lot of work to do to increase my fitness levels! I had started my healthier living in January and managed to really trim down using portion control and intermittent fasting, being more careful with what I eat has been the key to dropping some inches, but it was really hard to break old eating and drinking habits, which was only made a bit easier by the fact I was working away from Family in January – this is now a reminder of how hard it is to keep to new habits and to watch what I eat when back to the usual routine!
I hope to be able to get to the gym this Wednesday 09 February for my first day of “prove you moved”, and my aim for the 2 weeks is to walk more – with at least 4 x walks to or from the office per week and at least 1 x walk per day – and to go to the gym at least 3 x per week for the month. I also hope to do at least 1 x 5K walk-run in this time.
For the longer term, I am not sure how I will measure as I think measuring by weight can be misleading but I’ll start from there hoping to get back down to my usual pre-COVID/Pre-Surgery/Pre-Lockdown/Pre Christmas weight! (about 10lbs to lose!)
My long-term aim really is to maintain a realistic routine that includes movement and fitness and to join Fit4Feb to help me on this journey – THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
I’m signing up to keep the heart pumping and to clear the mind by enjoying my ME time on jogs and walks.
Ready and looking forward to Fit2Feb prove you moved challenge.
Hi all. As a 56 year old Caymanian who relates to himself as an athlete (played for Cayman at squash for many years) BUT who has really only been “semi-fit” for the last few years, I’m focussed in Q1 on moving up from 1-2 workouts per week and an “ok” diet to ramping up the workouts and watching the diet. Have already dropped 5.5kg (c12 lbs) since the start of the year and also feeling fit and strong through a) my usual fortnightly PT session on Pilates equipment, and b) c4 structured training bike workouts on Zwift.
My focus is to be able to join club rides in my local area. It is VERY hilly (North Downs, southern edge of London) and the combination of carrying extra kg and not being really fit is punishing. Gravity on hills is very unforgiving. Oh, and on indoor Zwift rides with the club in the winter the vast majority are older than me and are SMASHING it!
So, no, not into gyms, personal training, dance… and simply here to be inspired by other Caymanians and perhaps to inspire others of the older age bracket to relate to themselves as fit, strong and with further potential!
As I struggle to meditate/sit still for long periods of time, the best method of mindfulness and getting out of my head for me is exercise. It is my favourite way to start the day and makes me feel so good! While studying or working I think it is so important to try and find the time to take care of our physical and mental health, so I love the idea of this challenge! Thank you Cayman Connection.
I’m working to get back to the fitness level I had before an accident in 2019. Its slow going but every week is getting easier.
Thanks to Fit 4 Feb I’ve managed to close my rings this month all the while enjoying the daily movement and strength! What a wonderful group of people and amazing idea from Cayman Connection. Although a few rest days are much needed, I’m motivated to continue my fitness journey going forwards and stay consistent. Grateful to Cayman Connection for the fun challenge 🙏❤️🏋️♀️
I’ve signed up for Fit4Feb for the second time as I found it so motivating last year. And what do you know it’s made me go out for my first run in ages this morning. Sluggish yes but I did it. Hoping to get back on the right track of regular exercise and sensible eating.
I’ve signed up for Fit4Feb because it’s a fun way to Stay active and keep in touch with friends. At the end of this I hope to improve my walk time and have a better exercise routine.
I’ve always had trouble starting and keeping up with fitness more than once a week, so I think this will be a great kick start into my training! I’m Training for a very intense excursion in the next 1.5 yrs and also looking to add more strength training into my routines!
Have already been working out in the mornings since late last year using the Peloton app with my Schwinn IC4 Spin Bike. This just gives me another opportunity to connect with my people and adds another level of motivation.
I love Fit 4 Feb. It really helps keep fitness and wellness at the forefront of my mind. It’s also great to hear from others about their challenges and successes – community makes such a difference.
I actually really enjoyed this challenge. Below are my highlights:
– was actually motivated to go to the gym for once
– did my first in-class yoga session post covid
– made at-home, morning and evening yoga sessions part of my daily routine
– got a PB on the elliptical
– got a PB on the distance I walked post heel injury
– hired a personal trainer because I’m enjoying it so much but feel like I could be pushed harder.
– have a newfound dislike for the remix ‘Bring Sally Up’.
– discovered my cat can walk with me for 3.5 km before he gets tired and goes into a parking lot to jump into someone else’s car.
This challenge got me back into yoga and I’m considering signing up to the gym now!
