Cayman Connection hosted a truly special event for students heading overseas for their studies. On 10th August, 2024, our Student Sunset Send-Off provided a memorable evening for Caymanian students and their families to enjoy a final taste of home before embarking on their academic journeys.
An Evening of Connection and Comfort
The event was a wonderful blend of home comforts, interactive fun, and heartfelt goodbyes. Students and their parents gathered at The Balcony at Harbour Place to enjoy familiar refreshments, engaging activities, and a supportive community atmosphere.
Highlights of the Event:
- Home Comforts: Attendees savored comforting Caymanian style refreshments, making it a cozy and familiar experience before heading abroad.
- Interactive Fun: Cayman Connection’s Student Ambassadors organized a variety of fun activities, including interactive games, lively socializing opportunities, and of course, dominoes!
- Region specific information: The Cayman Connection Student Ambassadors hosted tables with information and guidance related to the UK, USA and Canada to answer attendee questions and help them feel at ease before they set off on their travels.
- Parent Networking: Parents had the chance to connect with each other and with the Cayman Connection team, gaining valuable insights and advice for supporting their children’s journeys.
MC Eddie Weber, US Student Ambassador, captured the spirit of the evening perfectly: “It’s moments like these that remind us of the strength and warmth of our Caymanian community. Seeing our students come together for a final sunset before their new adventures is truly special. We’re here to support them every step of the way.”
Why It Was Special:
- Farewell Celebration: Students enjoyed their ‘last sunset’ with fellow Caymanians, making the evening both fun and meaningful.
- Insightful Networking: The event provided a platform for students and parents to network, share experiences, and receive advice about studying abroad.
- Supportive Community: The evening reinforced the sense of community and support that Cayman Connection provides, helping students feel connected even as they prepare to leave home.
