The UK’s BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2020 Apprentice Finalists have been released and Gabriela Roberts has been shortlisted for the Technology Apprentice 2020.

With over 300 nominations for the awards received nationally across a wide range of categories, Gabriela Roberts of NCC Group and sep2 has done extremely well to have fought off some very tough competition to become a Finalist.

The BAME Apprenticeship Awards in partnership with Pearson, showcases the outstanding work and achievement of apprentices from black and minority ethnic groups (BAME) and inspires BAME apprentices to reach their full potential.

The awards also raise the profile of employers and training providers across the UK, who are championing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

The awards platform has been instrumental in creating future leaders and ambassadors for Apprenticeships and brought to the forefront key issues surrounding the need for more diversity within particular sectors.

Winning employers have showcased their diversity and inclusion strategies and how it’s helped them to shape an inclusive and diverse work environment as best practice examples for other organisations to follow suit.

“While this year hasn’t been easy for anyone, we have seen true resilience from apprentices who have had to deal with an unprecedented scenario. Covid 19 is a historic moment and while I thought we would be forced to cancel the awards, the overwhelming response we have received has been humbling to say the least.” says Kasim Choudhry director of Thinkfest.

“I am proud and humbled to have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Technology category. I have been exposed to so much in the ever-growing cyber security industry including engineering, cyber threat intelligence, cyber security monitoring & analysis and cyber security operations. I have both my employers, NCC Group and sep2, to thank for igniting my passion for cyber security and helping me to develop my technical skills and personal growth. I would like to congratulate the other finalists of this prestigious award and I wish everyone the best of luck!”
