Cayman Connection is a global not-for-profit membership organisation connecting, supporting and celebrating a global community of Caymanians, friends, and associates of the Cayman Islands.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to connect the Caymanian diaspora to home whilst providing opportunities to improve their quality of life abroad. Through access to our services and unique network, our global community promotes the Cayman Islands and our way of life to benefit all Caymanians.

OUR MISSION

To build a strong support network of people through a shared connection to the Cayman Islands, across the world.

  • To support the wellbeing of all young people of the Cayman Islands whilst living, studying, or working overseas
  • To promote knowledge, skill building and connectivity among Caymanians overseas through Cayman Islands’ advocates and associates
  • To better understand the Cayman Islands diaspora by developing and analysing our worldwide member data utilising GDPR compliant FLG software
  • To improve the global perception of all three Islands through our network

WE DO ALL KINNA T’INGS

We have a diverse portfolio of activities and events that we provide to our member base. These include:

SUPPORTING OUR OVERSEAS STUDENTS

We provide a support infrastructure to young and mature Caymanians who are studying or progressing their career s overseas, further enhancing their personal and professional development whilst keeping them connected to home.

This includes a meet and greet airport service for incoming students, and a buddying system connecting new students to our global student ambassadors to offer 121 support where needed.

EDUCATING AND DEVELOPING CAYMANIANS

We host Monthly Virtual Chats to provide a space for those living overseas to stay connected. Our offer includes Virtual Yard Meetings featuring special guests for members to connect, learn, and laugh together.

We have also developed special interest groups to help members learn new skills, share progress, and celebrate achievements. Our Global Clubs include Book Club, Bush Club, Cook Club, and Fit Club. All clubs provide opportunities for members to meet and engage in inclusive social campaigns and competitions.

CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY TO HOME

We have a range of engaging and informative WhatsApp chat groups and virtual channels. These include specific student, interest groups, and regional chats, including Global, UK, and North America chats for emergency communications. We work with key partners to host exciting and purposeful face-to-face gatherings and events across the globe to bring Caymanians together. This allows us to embrace Cayman culture and connect no matter our location.

SPREADING CAYMANKINDNESS

We produce care packages for those who have moved overseas to ensure that they feel supported by the overseas community by sending them a little love from home.

CHAMPIONING CAYMANIANS OVERSEAS

We host our annual Making Waves Awards to celebrate those who have excelled in their field whilst abroad, specifically those who continually strive to promote our community and share “Caymankind” globally. We host a podcast ‘Celebrating Caymanians Overseas – Out of sight, not out of mind’ and a video series ‘Passin’ Tru’. Both platforms allow us to interview Caymanians doing great things overseas to keep the Cayman Islands diaspora connected.
